Creative Winter Break with Prints, Silhouettes, and Relief Portraits
Inspired by the special exhibition Forget Me Not, where life and death masks, along with other objects, tell stories of different life stages, you can experiment with creating various types of imprints using your hands, ears, and fingers.
These activities are for both children and creative adults.
Monochrome Prints
What does your fingerprint look like? What happens if you press it 50 times? What if you print with your ear? Or the back of your hand? Create your own fantastic small, monochrome prints using everything from your hands and fingers to your ears or elbows. Using your body as a tool, you can experiment with different prints and patterns to create unique impressions to take home. Use your hands or fingers to make imprints or play around with your technique to achieve surprising effects.
Where: Special exhibition Forget Me Not, Princess Wing, ground floor.
Silhouette Workshop: What Do You Look Like?
In our ‘Forget Me Not’ exhibition, you can unleash your creativity in our silhouette workshop, where you can create your own facial silhouettes. Using light and shadow, you can capture the contours of your face and craft beautiful silhouettes. Each silhouette becomes a unique little artwork, reflecting your personality and capturing your distinctive features. Hang them up in the exhibition or take them home.
Where: Special exhibition ‘Forget me not’ Princess Wing, ground floor.
Relief: Create a Portrait in Clay
Make round, flat relief portraits in self-hardening clay. In the workshop located in the old wine cellar beneath Frederiksborg, we will examine facial features and personal characteristics while working with different clay techniques. Surrounded by sculptures of Greek gods, we will find inspiration to create beautiful portraits. Shape and model your face in clay and take home your own unique portrait.
Where: Special exhibition ‘Gods Recreated’ King’s Wing, basement.
